MERRY CHRISTMAS

We hope that you will have a very merry Christmas. May you find the peace that passes all understanding this Christmas Season. May we all reflect upon the true meaning of Christmas as we approach the day set aside to celebrate Christ's Birth.

Matthew 1: 23 ... The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" - which means, "God with us."

TWO Years Old!

Today our little boy turns TWO. How time flies. It seems like it was just yesterday he was coming into the world with all the excitement that surrounds the birth of your first child. We had a great birthday party with several of Ryan's friends. I'm sure he will be turning 16 before I know it!

Thanksgiving and Disney

This year we spent thanksgiving in sunny FLORIDA. We had a great time and even got to spend a couple days at Disney with Poppa and Jojo! Ryan did really well for his age. I have hence decided that he will be able to go back to Disney once he is over the age of 6 and Pace is 5. He did really well he just didn't like waiting in line and there were LONG lines to wait in. Thank goodness for the Fast pass! Here are several Pictures from our time there ...

Six months old!

Today I'm 6 months old. Life has been fairly good to me ... heck it's been very good to me. I don't have to do anything for myself. Mom feeds me and changes me and buys me some cool clothes. She says she lives out her fashion sense through me and my brother. I've enjoyed my first six months and look forward to my next six months!

Dedication Sunday

Sunday we dedicated Pace. It was a great time. Both sets of grandparents were there as well as one set of Great Grandparents, Uncle Benjamin was also there. It was great to have so much family around as we publicly dedicated Pace to the Lord.

Trunk or Treat

Last night we went to our church for a Trunk or Treat event then we went out trick or treating with our community group. We also made a stop by Uncle Ted and Aunt Amy's house. Ryan had a great time although he still is real unsure as to what the fuss was all about. Pace slept for most of the time. Enjoy the photos!

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we went to the pumpkin patch. Not too many good pics as it was REALLY cold. Of course Ryan is so tired of the Paparazzi chasing him all over the place so he rarely will pose any more :)

Papa

October 11th my Papa passed on to his eternal home. It was a sudden home going for him but one in which he didn't suffer long. He is now face to face with his Maker and is able to breathe, see and hear again - things he hadn't been able to do well for some time now. We miss him here but know that there's no place he'd rather be than worshiping the One who set him free! Ryan now owns one of his hats and wears it so proudly ... and quite cutely too ... is that even a word? :)

Playful ones

The other day mom was cooking dinner and so I decided to play with my little brother. Mom heard us both giggling as I made brother laugh and that made me laugh. It's fun to play with him. I can't wait until he is a little bit older.

Another Arbitrary Parent Rule

Here is another one of our arbitrary parent rules of the day ...

Throwing your sippy-cup on the floor, again, is not called a "whoa" ... It's called '"on purpose"

A day at the Fair

Saturday mom and dad took me and brother to the Fair. Logan and Christopher came too. We all had a great time riding the rides. It was my first time at the fair and I asked mom and dad to take me again. I got to slide down this big tall slide.

Mom covered brother up when he fell asleep so he wouldn't get sun burned.

Arbitrary Parent Rules for today

We have realized that we come up with some very strange rules for our children sometimes as an attempt to limit collatoral damage from their creative ideas. Today had a good one to start with: "Do not eat food that mommy throws in the garbage."

Zoo Day

Today Mom and Dad took me to the Zoo. Ok so my little brother came too. I had the best time looking at all the animals and making my animal sounds. I especailly liked it when mom and dad set me free and let me walk around on my own. That was the best! I got to see all kinds of animals. I didn't get to see yang yang though. She was with her baby panda. But Lun Lun was out and I was able to see him. My Little brother slept the whole time we were there. I almost forgot he was with us!

4 Months Old!

Hey Folks! Sunday the 10th I turned Four Months old! I am 14 pounds and 13 ounces and 25 1/2 inches tall. I'm not quite as tall as my brother was at this point but that's ok. My doctor told me I was doing great. They poked me in my legs FOUR times!! It hurt but mom was there to comfort me as soon as they were done.

Matching Brothers

Gram and Pop bought us these matching outfits. Don't we look cute? Pace can't quite talk or type yet so I, Ryan, have to do all the talking for us right now. By the way folks, I'm feeling a little better. Still a little pale but my fever is gone and I slept all night last night without waking my mommy and daddy up. They were very excited.

Lazy Boy

Mom and Dad try to give me tummy time and this is what I do .... I'm not going to even try to lift my head. Mom says I need to try so that my neck muscles will be strengthened and I won't be a "bobble head" any more. But I like just lying here.

Sick Bubby

Hi folks! I'm not feeling well today. I have what they call the Coxsacki Virus. I woke my mom and dad up at 12:45am and also 4:55am. Dad took me to the ER and they told me I had a virus and that it would run it's course. Let's hope mom, dad and brother Pace don't get it too! I had to have my blood drawn TWICE. Dad tells mom that I was such a CHAMP! I even slept for a few minutes with dad on the bed in the ER.

Even though I am sick ... I can still smile. See my bandaids? They hurt drawing my blood!

Speech Therapy

Today we discovered through Ryan's first speech evaluation that Ryan has more words than we thought he had and that he is doing OK despite the fact that he doesn't vocalize very much. We were excited to be able to answer YES to many of her questions. We will evaluate again around December - at his 2 year appointment - and see if further appointments will be necessary.

Ryan Spotlight

Most days he says ... GO GEORGIA

And some days he will root for the Hurricanes :)

Pace Spotlight

Big giggles and smiles now. It is so fun to see him start to laugh.

Pace is learning to hold his head up and is starting to enjoy more and more Tummy Time. He's growing too fast!

Why Blog?

Well, this is our first blog. We feel like we're on the cutting edge with this, but I'm sure this feeling of coolness will wear off soon when we realize that we're still really behind everyone else in the technology world.

Anyways, we hope you enjoy our BLOG. It's essentially just an online journal. You can read it on a regular basis, especially if you want to see pictures of the kids. We'll include you in on the small, perhaps trivial, and funny things of our life. We hope you enjoy it
