Got Gas?

Not sure how you guys are doing in your neck of the woods but there is a shortage of gas here in our corner of the world. All over our city gas stations are without gas and when a station does get gas the lines are LONG and the people's patience is LOW!

Gas stations are running out just hours after receiving a shipment because people are in panic mode. I went to get in one of our vehicles the other day and missed it by 1 car ... they ran out right in front of my eyes. (By the way Jeremy's light was on so we really needed the gas!) The gas running out could have been due to a guy who was filling up his truck PLUS about 5 or 10 plastic containers as well ... for the love people!

Crazy times!

This morning I was watching Good Morning America before the boys got up for the day and couldn't believe what I was hearing. Moms are taking their daughters to spa's for bikini wax, facials and other things going beyond a mani/pedi at the age of 9!

Is this just wrong to me or does it rub someone else the wrong way too? Maybe I'm crazy but I'm thinking this just feeds into what the magazines are trying to sell our daughters that they must fit into a certain mold in order to be beautiful. Put these spa treatments next to the skimpy clothes they are selling to tweens and we are the reason that our girls are having the problems that they are.

Why can't we just let them be little? Paint their finger and toe nails and let them feel like a princess even take them to get a mani and pedi for a fun mother/daughter time. Why do they need more than that at the age of 9 or 11? Do they really need to be waxed at this age? Are we sending them mixed messages by taking them for these types of things so early? In my humble opinion it is too much too soon. Lets quit making them see themselves as objects to the opposite gender and let them be little girls who feel good about who they are without chemical alterations at such a tender age!

Air?

Today my dear, sweet husband went to get a haircut with my sons. Before going to get his and Ryan's hair chopped he put air in one of the front tires in my vehicle. He had to drive clear across creation to find a gas station that did not charge for air. Now people, please explain to me why we have to pay for AIR?

Hate

I read on Jamie's blog today about a church who is full of Hate. They even go so far as to picket our soldiers funerals and to broadcast that God hates certain people in our country. On behalf of Christ followers who do not act like this, I'd like to apologize to those of you out there who have been hurt by this type of crap. Please don't judge my God by how a few people act. I'm here to tell you that my God doesn't hate anyone .... He is full of love, grace, and forgiveness. He hates SIN but never the sinner. His arms are open for anyone who is willing to give him a shot to love them. He is a God who is Just and mighty, yet he does not single us out and hate us because of our sin. If he did he would hate us ALL. (Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God). We have all made mistakes and though our sins are different we all sin. God does not categorize our sins - one is not worse than another in his yes. So to all of you out there who have been hurt by Christians ... I'm sorry! I really am!
